I could see the bright lights of Etude House as I approached it, a trademark of all Etude Houses in Singapore. (I guess, since the one in Citylink also has bright white lights shining out as well). A life-size Lee Min Ho grinned at me.
I had no idea that there was a branch of Etude House hiding between Orchard MRT and Ion Orchard.
OK it was partly because I have never shopped at Etude House! HAHA.
For a few minutes, I browsed the shelves. I was looking for this really cool product that my student had introduced to me - a nail polish pen for nail art, but that's another story. After searching for a while, I still couldn't find it.
I think it became obvious how lost I looked, because a salesperson came to ask if I needed help. He wasn't the most 'I-have-a-smile-on-my-face-forever' person in the world, but he deserved an award because he was pretty helpful and patient. I asked for the price when there was a price tag just below the product. I asked if there were any other colours when there were only pink tubes there. I couldn't even tell the difference between the eyeliner, lip gloss and nail polish pen tubes. And I am the girl, he's a man.
The lady at the cashier counter left abruptly as I left because she was carrying a box of thingamajigs, so the salesperson who had helped me quickly stepped in to take my payment. At least I wasn't kept waiting.
I paid, kept my things and prepared to leave, but to my surprise, he called out to me and handed me a facial mask. It was an O2 White Mask.
"This is for you," he said.
FREE GIFT! No price tag. I checked. Not bad, when I had only bought 2 items for under $20 only.
